Th350 Detent Cable Leak

Seems to me that the detent cable does.

Does it seem pssible that it could be losing that much fluid from this location when the car isn t even running. I am working on a 72 c10 with a 307 350 turbo combination. It seems to leak a bunch of transmission fluid after setting for a period of time. I currently have a leak coming from the cable dripping on front.

It had no sign of front or rear seal leakage so i replaced the filter and pan gasket and then test drove it for several days. The plastic cable mounts needs to be removed. I would say it is about 3 8 tall slides over the plastic part that sticks in the trans. This boot is typically on th350s 1978 up but may also be found on earlier models. Th350 has in fact a detent cable not a throttle valve cable. On both of my th350 s i have a rubber sleeve type seal on the cable.
